Artificial Turf

Zero Irrigation, Zero Mowing, Year-Round Green

Synthetic turf for commercial properties, sports fields, pet areas, and play zones across Wyoming and western South Dakota.

Synthetic Turf Built for Wyoming Conditions

G&G Landscape installs commercial-grade artificial turf across Gillette, Sheridan, Buffalo, Casper, Douglas, Sundance, and Spearfish. Applications include sports fields, pet relief areas, playground surfaces, building entryways, rooftop decks, and any area where natural grass is impractical or too expensive to maintain.

Wyoming's short growing season, water restrictions, and extreme temperature swings make synthetic turf a practical choice for many commercial and municipal properties. Modern turf products drain efficiently, resist UV degradation, and maintain a consistent appearance regardless of drought, foot traffic, or snowfall. There is no mowing, fertilizing, or irrigation required after installation.

We handle every phase of the project: site assessment, excavation, base construction, drainage integration, turf installation, infill application, and seaming. Each installation is built on a properly compacted aggregate base with drainage fabric to prevent water pooling and ensure long-term stability.

Our Installation Process

  1. Site Assessment

We evaluate the existing surface, measure the area, check drainage conditions, and discuss the intended use. This determines turf type, pile height, infill material, and base requirements.

  2. Excavation and Base Construction

We remove existing vegetation and soil to the required depth, then install and compact a crushed aggregate base. Proper base depth and compaction are what keep the surface flat and draining for years.

  3. Compaction and Drainage

The aggregate base is machine-compacted in lifts to achieve a firm, level surface. Drainage fabric is installed as needed to direct water away from structures and prevent saturation.

  4. Turf Installation

Turf rolls are cut to fit, laid directionally for a natural look, and secured along the perimeter. Seams are glued and stitched to create a continuous surface with no visible joints.

  5. Infill and Finishing

Infill material is spread and brushed into the turf fibers to weigh the turf down, support blade recovery, and provide cushion. The surface is power-brushed for a uniform finish and final inspection completed.

Artificial Turf FAQs

How long does artificial turf last?

Commercial-grade synthetic turf typically lasts 15 to 20 years with proper installation and basic maintenance. Lifespan depends on traffic volume, infill type, and UV exposure. We install products with UV-stabilized fibers designed for Wyoming's intense sun and altitude.

What maintenance does artificial turf need?

Maintenance is minimal. Periodic brushing keeps the fibers upright, and occasional rinsing removes dust and debris. Pet areas benefit from enzymatic treatments. Infill may need topping off every few years depending on traffic. No mowing, watering, or fertilizing is required.

How does drainage work with synthetic turf?

The turf backing is perforated to allow water to pass through directly. Below the turf, the compacted aggregate base and drainage fabric move water laterally toward collection points or natural drainage paths. A properly installed system drains faster than natural grass.

Is artificial turf safe for pets and children?

Yes. The turf products we install are non-toxic and lead-free. For playgrounds, we use turf systems with additional shock-absorbing pad layers to meet fall-height safety standards. Pet turf features antimicrobial infill and enhanced drainage to handle waste effectively.
