Landscape Installation That Survives Wyoming Winters

Trees, shrubs, perennials, ornamental grasses, mulch beds, and boulders installed for commercial and residential properties in Gillette and surrounding areas.

What We Do

Complete Landscape Installation for Commercial and Residential Sites

G&G Landscape installs trees, shrubs, perennials, ornamental grasses, mulch beds, boulders, and ground cover for properties across Gillette, Sheridan, Buffalo, Casper, Douglas, Sundance, and Spearfish. We handle everything from a single commercial building frontage to multi-acre site-wide installations.

Plant selection matters in northeast Wyoming. The climate here sits in USDA zones 4 and 5 with cold winters, high winds, alkaline soils, and limited rainfall. We specify plant material that is proven to establish and perform in these conditions, not catalog species that look good on paper but fail in the ground.

For commercial projects, we work from architect or landscape designer plans and coordinate installation timing with other site trades. For residential properties, we can work from existing plans or develop a planting layout that fits the site, the budget, and the owner's goals. Either way, the installed landscape is built to last.

Our Process

How a Landscape Installation Comes Together

Planned, prepped, planted, and finished -- with a walkthrough before we leave the site.

  1. Design Review

We review the landscape plan, verify plant availability from regional nurseries, and confirm quantities, sizes, and species substitutions if needed. For projects without an existing plan, we develop a planting layout based on site conditions and project goals.

  2. Site Preparation

Bed areas are graded, amended with topsoil or compost as needed, and prepped to the correct depth. Existing debris, rocks, and construction material are cleared. If irrigation is part of the project, lines and heads are installed before planting begins.

  3. Plant Installation

Trees are set to proper depth with root flares exposed. Shrubs and perennials are spaced per the plan and planted at grade. Root balls are inspected, circling roots are corrected, and backfill is compacted in stages to eliminate air pockets.

  4. Mulch & Ground Cover

Beds receive mulch at the specified depth for moisture retention and weed suppression. Rock mulch, bark mulch, or ground cover plants are installed depending on the design. Edging is set to define bed lines and contain mulch material.

  5. Walkthrough & Handoff

We walk the completed installation with the property owner or project manager. Watering schedules, establishment care, and any warranty terms are reviewed. The site is cleaned, and the project is documented with photos for your records.

FAQ

Common Questions About Landscape Installation

What plants work in Wyoming's climate?

We specify cold-hardy trees like Colorado spruce, ponderosa pine, green ash, and bur oak. Shrubs include potentilla, lilac, juniper, and native chokecherry. Perennials such as black-eyed Susan, Russian sage, daylily, and ornamental grasses like Karl Foerster and blue fescue are well-suited to the wind, cold, and alkaline soils in this region.

How long does a landscape installation take?

A residential front and backyard installation typically takes three to five days depending on scope. Commercial projects vary based on acreage and plant count -- a mid-size commercial site might run one to three weeks. We provide a project schedule during the estimating phase so you can plan around it.

Do you warranty the plant material?

Yes. Warranty terms are included in every proposal and cover replacement of plant material that fails to establish under normal conditions. The warranty requires that the property owner or manager follows the watering and care guidelines we provide at project handoff.

Do you provide maintenance after installation?

We offer establishment care during the first growing season, which includes monitoring, adjusting irrigation, and replacing any material that does not survive. For ongoing landscape maintenance beyond the establishment period, contact our office to discuss a maintenance agreement.
