Irrigation Systems

Irrigation Systems Designed for Wyoming Conditions

Design, installation, and maintenance of commercial and residential irrigation systems across the Gillette area and northeast Wyoming.

What We Do

Full-Service Irrigation for Commercial and Residential Properties

G&G Landscape designs, installs, and maintains irrigation systems that deliver the right amount of water to every zone on your property. We work with rotor heads, spray heads, and drip irrigation to match the coverage pattern to the plant material and turf areas on-site.

Every system we install includes smart controller technology that adjusts watering schedules based on weather data and soil conditions. In a semi-arid climate like Gillette and the surrounding region, efficient water use is not optional. Our systems are built to reduce waste while keeping landscapes healthy through Wyoming's hot summers and freeze-thaw cycles.

We handle everything from new construction installs to retrofitting existing systems. For property managers and contractors in Gillette, Sheridan, Buffalo, Casper, Douglas, Sundance, and Spearfish, that means one crew for design, installation, spring startup, mid-season adjustments, and fall winterization.

Our Process

From Design to Flowing Water

Each system is engineered for the specific property, water pressure, and plant material on-site.

  1. Site Assessment

We evaluate the property layout, measure water pressure and flow rate at the source, identify turf zones versus planting beds, and note any slopes or obstacles that affect coverage patterns.

  2. System Design

Using site data, we lay out zones with matched precipitation rates. Rotors cover large turf areas. Spray heads handle smaller zones and tight spaces. Drip lines serve planting beds, tree rings, and ground cover areas. Every zone is sized to the available flow.

  3. Trenching & Installation

Main lines, lateral lines, and valve boxes are trenched and installed at proper depths for freeze protection. Heads are set to finished grade. Backflow prevention devices are installed per local code requirements.

  4. Controller Programming

Smart controllers are mounted, wired, and programmed with zone-specific run times, watering days, and seasonal adjustment settings. We walk you through the interface and set up remote access if the controller supports it.

  5. Testing & Adjusting

Every zone is run and inspected. We adjust head positions, arc patterns, and nozzle selections to eliminate dry spots and overspray. The system is documented with an as-built diagram for your records.

FAQ

Common Questions About Irrigation Systems

What types of irrigation systems do you install?

Rotor systems for large turf areas, spray systems for smaller zones, drip irrigation for planting beds and tree rings, and combination systems that use all three. We also install micro-spray for ground cover areas and specialty zones. The system type is matched to the property and the plant material.

Do you handle winterization and spring startup?

Yes. Winterization involves blowing out all lines with compressed air before the first hard freeze to prevent pipe and fitting damage. Spring startup includes pressurizing the system, inspecting all heads and valves, reprogramming controllers for the new season, and making any repairs from winter damage.

Do you offer ongoing maintenance?

We provide seasonal maintenance including mid-season inspections, head adjustments, nozzle replacements, valve repairs, and controller reprogramming. Regular maintenance catches small problems before they become expensive ones and keeps water usage efficient.

How do smart controllers save water?

Smart controllers use local weather data, evapotranspiration rates, and soil moisture readings to adjust watering schedules automatically. They skip irrigation when it rains, reduce run times during cool periods, and increase watering during heat waves. Typical water savings range from 20 to 50 percent compared to fixed-schedule timers.
